All of our society has definitely been changed by technology. Technology has changed the way we communicate, specifically the cell phone. I have a cell phone for emergencies, but it usually is off.
We use this technology to communicate anywhere we are and anywhere our contact might be.
My son will not leave home without his and if for some reason he forgets it is like the end of life as we know it. We have a land-line which he tells his friends to try first, but if he is not at home they can call or text him on his cell phone.
Cell phones also have plenty of apps on them to be used to communicate. In my research I came across an interesting use. Iphone has an app that brain damaged people can use to communicate so they are not locked in their minds anymore. I could have used this when was in the hospital. This technology is so great.
iiphone helps disabledPhone helps disabled I can tell you I was not a great big fan, just like my mom. But this has turned me on around on that one.
My mom absolutely can not stand modern technology, but she uses a cell phone. My stepdad is into all the gadgetry, so he refuses to give his cell phone. They do not have a land line phone anymore, so if she wants to talk to someone over the phone she has to use the cell phone.
An argument can be made that some people do not want to be reached anywhere they happen to be, by and large, cell phones are a good thing. Cell phones have changed communication for the better. From helping the disabled to the able bodied. Although I do wonder how we ever got along with out them?
Nice post! I think that we only got along with out them because we didn't know there was a better way. I am going through a transition myself with downsizing from a smartphone to a basic phone. It's tough!
